Meir Kahane was a violent Jewish supremacist who advocated and inspired acts of terror. Kach, the political party run by him and his followers, was banned from the Knesset in 1988 on the grounds that their ideology is 'racist and undemocratic’ and categorized as a terrorist organization. Kahanist organizations are still defined as terror groups by the U.S. State Department.
We, supporters of IRAC and the state of Israel are concerned and appalled by the idea of supporters of Meir Kahane running for the Israeli parliament. Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) not only works against Israel’s core values of Judaism and of democracy, but also goes against the Israeli law that made the Kahane organization illegal in Israel.
We sign here in support of the appeal IRAC submitted to the Israel Central Elections Committee demanding the disqualification of the candidates from Otzma Yehudit.
